So are the Knights of the Round Table an “official” vigilante team as in they are technically vigilantes, but are officially supported by the authorities?
They are not vigilantes at all, but rather a state funded, if mostly independently operating organisation.
As has been mentioned before, West Europe has largely resisted efforts like the UH to unite and organise metahumans. Superheroes operate solo or in small teams (with a few exceptions), some with permission (and sometimes support) of their respective governments.
With currently 12 serving members, the Knights of the round table represent the second-largest organized group of heroic metahumans in west Europe.
